# Debt Collection Regulation in Singapore

Singapore regulates debt collection under the Debt Collection Act 2022, which came into force in stages; since December 2023 debt collectors must hold a licence issued by the Singapore Police Force (SPF) under the Act. Agencies also register with ACRA as ordinary companies, and collection conduct remains constrained by the Protection from Harassment Act. Credit Collection Association of Singapore membership is voluntary.
